The Best Dump Bread

My mom’s recipe for the easiest bread is in our Volume 3 cookbook. Before she left town, she made some for our family. It’s super good!

THE BEST DUMP BREAD

Ingredients

  • 4 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 1 tablespoon yeast

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°.
  2. Grease 2 (1-quart) pans.
  3. In a large bowl, mix all ingredients together.
  4. Make a hole in the middle and add 2 cups of luke warm water.
  5. Stir until all of the dry ingredients are mixed in, then cover with a damp cloth and let rise until double in size. It should take two hours.
  6. Divide the dough into two equal parts. Place in the pans and let rise. It should take about one hour.
  7. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Remove from oven, let cool in the pans for five minutes and then turn the bread out to let it cool.
  9. Serve warm warm with butter.
