Old-Fashioned Goulash
Before my mom left last week, she made the family her recipe for Goulash. The recipe uses simple ingredients and it makes a lot! I hope your family enjoys it as much as we did!
OLD FASHIONED GOULASH
Ingredients
- 1 box of elbow macaroni
- 1 1/2 pounds of ground beef, cooked and drained
- 1 green bell peppers, diced
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 1 tsp. cumin
- 1 tsp. basil
- 1 tsp. Italian seasoning
- 1 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 (28 oz) can of crushed tomatoes
- 2 cups of mild cheddar cheese, shredded (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°.
- In a large pot, bring 6 cups of water to a boil and then cook the pasta.
- Brown the ground beef in a skillet.
- Add green peppers, onions, and seasoning. Stir.
- Add the crushed tomatoes. Let cook for about 5 minutes more.
- Pour into a 9 x 13" baking dish.
- Top with cheese (optional).
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until the cheese is melted. If you are not adding cheese, you do not have to bake it.
