EASY STRAWBERRY RHUBARB DUMP CAKE
40 years ago, Darryl remembers a strawberry/rhubarb pie that was DeLiCiOuS! He thought he would try to make a dump cake. It was a hit!
Ingredients
- 4 cups rhubarb, diced
- 2 cups strawberries, sliced
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 (3 oz) package strawberry Jell-o
- 1 (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix
- 2 sticks butter, cut into thin pats
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°. Spray the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray. Arrange rhubarb in an even layer in the pan. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup sugar.
- Arrange strawberries evenly over rhubarb. Sprinkle with remaining sugar. Sprinkle dry strawberry Jell-o powder over the strawberries.
- Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly on top of the rhubarb/strawberry layer.
- Add pats of butter in rows over cake mix. DO NOT STIR.
- Bake for 45-55 minutes until golden brown on top and bubbly on the edges.
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
