Aunt Lannette’s Family Chili

I loved having my sweet family in town for several days. It warms my heart and feeds my soul. We decided to make the BEST chili recipe from my Volume 1 cookbook. It always is delicious!

THE BEST CHILI

The BEST chili on a cold winter's night. So quick and easy to put together too.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cans chili beans
  • 1 can pork & beans
  • 1 can baked beans
  • 1 can kidney beans
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • 1/2 jar chili sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup ketchup

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, cook beef and onion over medium heat for 8 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thoroughly cooked; drain.
  2. Stir in remaining ingredients; heat to boiling over high heat. Reduce heat to medium-low; simmer about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. CROCKPOT version - Place cooked beef and onion in crockpot. Add all the ingredients. Cook on high for 4 to 6 hours. Serve with sour cream and cheese.
