Red, White, & Blue Fruit Salad
Who doesn’t love a yummy fruit salad?! This salad uses fresh strawberries, blueberries and apples to create a red, white, and blue-themed side dish for the 4th of July. The dressing is easy to make and adds so much flavor. It’s also very Patriotic!
RED, WHITE & BLUE FRUIT SALAD
Ingredients
FRUIT SALAD
- 2 (16 oz) containers of strawberries washed, hulled and sliced thin
- 1 pint blueberries, washed
- 1 apple, peeled
DRESSING
- 1 tablespoon orange juice
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- Zest of one orange
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
FRUIT SALAD
- Combine strawberries and blueberries in a large bowl.
- Cut slices off of the apple on one side, approximately 1/4 inch thick. Repeat cutting slices off of each side of the apple. Be careful not to cut too far into the core.
- Use a star cookie cutter to cut out stars from the slices of the white flesh of the apple.
- Add stars to the fruit bowl.
DRESSING
- Whisk the orange juice, orange zest, brown sugar and pinch of salt in small bowl.
- Pour the dressing over the fruit and toss to coat. Serve.
